“Swing for Success” Golf Tournament Raises $48,000 for Youth Scholarships

Sponsored by Sahana Chokshi and Misha Gowda at Slammer & Squire Golf Course. The fairways were full of purpose and generosity at the “Swing for Success” Golf Tournament, held at the beautiful Slammer & Squire Golf Course in St. Augustine. Organized and sponsored by student leaders Sahana Chokshi and Misha Gowda, the event brought together community members, golf enthusiasts, and supporters of youth development, all with the shared goal of supporting the Moore-Myers Children’s Fund (MMCF).

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of these two young philanthropists, the tournament raised an impressive $48,000, which will go directly toward supporting the educational goals of deserving young students involved with MMCF.

In a remarkable show of vision and heart, Sahana and Misha used the proceeds to establish three new scholarships through MMCF. These scholarships will recognize and reward students who embody the values that drive both personal and academic growth:

  • The Rising Star Scholarship – awarded to a student showing exceptional promise and dedication.
  • The Leadership Scholarship – honoring a student who leads with integrity, responsibility, and initiative.
  • The Perseverance Scholarship – celebrating a student who demonstrates resilience and determination in the face of challenges.

“We wanted to create an event that not only celebrated the game of golf, but also gave back to a cause we care deeply about,” said Sahana. Misha added, “These scholarships are our way of making a lasting impact and recognizing the amazing young people supported by MMCF.”

The Moore-Myers Children’s Fund extends heartfelt thanks to Sahana, Misha, and all who participated in or contributed to the tournament. Their efforts have not only raised crucial funding but have also inspired a new generation to give back, lead with purpose, and swing for success, on and off the course.
