Understanding how to manage money is a vital life skill and one that sets the foundation for long-term success. That’s why financial literacy is an important part of our Eagles development program. This month, we were thrilled to welcome Mrs. Janeen Smith to lead an eye-opening financial literacy workshop for our young golfers.
Mrs. Smith engaged the Eagles in meaningful conversations about key financial topics, including saving, investing, insurance, budgeting, and smart spending habits. Her goal was to empower our students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions, now and in the future.
To make the lesson both fun and practical, Dr. J introduced the “Penny Challenge”, a creative and motivating activity that encourages students to save money every day for an entire year. By starting small and being consistent, the Eagles learned how even a penny a day can grow into something meaningful. It’s a hands-on way to teach the power of saving, goal-setting, and discipline.
Workshops like these help our Eagles see that success isn’t just about what happens on the golf course. It’s also about making wise choices in everyday life. We’re grateful to Mrs. Smith for sharing her time and expertise, and we’re excited to see our Eagles apply these lessons as they work toward a financially smart and secure future.
