Moore-Myers Children’s Fund Scholarship Opportunities
At Moore-Myers Children’s Fund (MMCF), we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue higher education and personal excellence—regardless of financial limitations. In line with our mission to nurture future leaders through golf, mentorship, and character development, we offer scholarship programs designed to support our participants as they take the next step toward academic and professional success.
Our scholarship initiatives reflect our commitment not only to athletic growth but also to educational advancement and community impact. Below are three key scholarship opportunities currently available through MMCF:
1. MMCF Gap Scholarship
The MMCF Gap Scholarship is designed to assist students in covering the remaining financial need not met by other forms of aid such as grants, loans, or family contributions. This scholarship serves as a critical bridge for students who have already secured partial funding but still face financial hurdles in paying for college tuition. By closing this “gap,” MMCF helps ensure that deserving young individuals can move forward in their educational journey with greater confidence and security.
2. Gwendolyn Redding-Tuggle Scholarship
Honoring the legacy of Gwendolyn Redding-Tuggle, this scholarship gives priority to students attending two historically significant institutions: Morgan State University and Howard University. The award supports students who demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement and leadership, particularly those who may be continuing the legacy of excellence in historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). While preference is given to attendees of Morgan State or Howard, the broader scope of eligibility may vary based on funding availability and applicant pool.
3. Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation Scholarship
Sponsored in partnership with the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation, this scholarship is awarded to an MMCF participant who exemplifies exceptional character, dedication to the sport of golf, and a clearly defined roadmap to success. This scholarship not only supports the recipient financially but also affirms their personal growth, leadership potential, and commitment to using golf as a pathway for life advancement.
4. Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA) Scholarship
Through our membership in the Jacksonville Area Golf Association (JAGA), an organization committed to supporting youth golf and education, Moore-Myers Eagles are eligible to apply for four-year college scholarships. These awards recognize student-athletes who demonstrate academic achievement, character, and a passion for the game of golf.
5. Ralph and Altamese Dawkins Jr. Scholarship
Established by the Dawkins family in honor of Ralph Dawkins—a tournament winner, professional golf instructor, supporter of higher education and pioneer in creating access to public golf courses for African-Americans. This endowed scholarship supports Moore-Myers Children’s Fund Eagles in their pursuit of higher education.
